U.S. Army Captain Jack Ludwig, a military doctor stationed in Oregon, begins writing to Louise Rabiner, an aspiring actress and dancer in New York City, hoping to meet her someday if the war will allow. But as the war continues, it threatens to end their relationship before it even starts. Tony Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig tells the joyous, heartwarming story of his parents’ courtship during World War II and the results are anything but expected.

What is a staged reading?

A staged reading is a script-forward performance of a new play.

·      Actors read from scripts on stage

·      Costumes, props, and technical elements are limited

·      The focus is on the story, characters, and dialogue while the play is still being developed

How you'll give feedback

Your response helps the playwright revise and strengthen the play.

·      After the reading, you'll be invited to share brief feedback

·      The most helpful comments are specific: what you loved, where you felt confused, and any moments that felt slow or unclear

·      Please keep feedback kind and constructive

Join us for a special staged reading of Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Speckled Band, a new full-length adaptation by Michael Hebler based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mystery. 

While this event is free, guests are invited to bring an item for The Giving Stage in lieu of purchasing a ticket. Just another chance to support our community while supporting the arts.

Students of Max Rousseau will be putting the skills they have learned to use on stage as they present their monologues in this special Adult Acting Class Showcase.

This performance highlights the hard work, creativity, and growth of our adult acting students as they share pieces they have developed in class and bring their voices to life in front of an audience.

Admission is free, and our concessions will be open.

Guests are also encouraged to bring canned food donations to support our Giving Stage initiative.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee follows six quirky young competitors as they tackle challenging words, big emotions, and the pressures of growing up. Filled with humor, memorable songs, and heartfelt moments, this musical celebrates individuality and the courage to find your voice.

This holiday musical is set in Muncie, Indiana, in the 1950’s, as the Dumont Television Network features the Taffeta sisters (Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl, and Donna) on its weekly television show "Hometown Hoedown" to celebrate the Christmas Season. And everyone is there, including the girls’ cousin, Warren. With several other surprises in store for the audience, this show blends together some of the sisters’ traditional hits, along with new songs and holiday favorites. A Taffeta Christmas is a classic hometown Christmas - the way it used to be!

A ten week session that focuses on audition preparation, dance techniques, vocal quality and characterization skills. Kids from ages 7-15 will learn to grow more confident in all three aspects of musical theatre. Concluding the session, will be a final showcase open to parents and guardians.

This is an immersive, musical theater, drama elective designed for homeschooled students. In a fun, safe, supportive environment, we will combine acting, singing, theatre games, and movement, to enhance confidence, public speaking, social skills, theatre knowledge and collaboration through weekly rehearsals. Students work together with new and old friends to master scenes, choreography, and hone their creative talents. The session concludes with a high-energy, fully staged musical performance allowing students to apply their new skills in singing, dancing, and acting on stage, celebrating their creativity together while performing for family, friends, and the community.

Build confidence and bring characters to life in this 10-week acting-focused class! Students ages 7–15 will explore the fundamentals of acting, including characterization, improvisation, emotional expression, scene work, and audition preparation. Through engaging exercises and hands-on activities, students will strengthen their performance skills, develop their creativity, and grow as confident young actors.

The session will conclude with a special showcase where students can share what they’ve learned with their parents and guardians!

Next to Normal is a rock musical focusing on Diana Goodman, a suburban mother battling bipolar disorder and traumatic grief, and the profound impact her worsening illness has on her family. It explores themes of mental health, medical ethics, and the definition of "normal"

Content Advisory: This production includes mature themes, strong language, depictions and discussion of mental illness (including bipolar disorder), grief and loss, medication and psychiatric treatment, and references to suicide/self-harm. Viewer discretion is advised.

Looking for a way to add movement, socialization, and pure fun to your child’s day? Our new 3–6-year-old drama program fall session is almost here (there will also be a spring session starting in February)!

Our new Little Stars’ drama classes help kids collaborate, listen, and shine in a supportive, fun environment. Your child’s participation will help build confidence, creativity, listening skills and new friendships in our tailored theatre program, designed specifically for the homeschool community. We focus on play-based learning—including basic theatre games, physical expression, and musical movement—to bring out the best in young performers.

No experience necessary, just a desire to play! There are two sessions to choose from with each session having a maximum of 15 Little Stars.
